Technology is important because it helps people do things faster and easier. It allows people to learn things faster, to communicate in an instant, to travel the world within days, to cut down construction of things in half (or more,) etc. Over the last five years technology has taken off. The items coming out are bigger, better, and faster than those of previous years, and they have greater uses. During the next five years I think that technology will become even more advanced, and we will be able to do more with it.
I use the internet for school work. When I get stuck on a problem that I do not know or need to find information that's the first places that I go. I also use calculators for my math and a translator for my Spanish. Personally, I use my phone, laptop, TV, and iPod on a daily basis. Sometimes when I'm doing work around the house I listen to my doc or the radio.
The only tools that I think I will ever use from Online B in the future would be digital storytelling, excel, screen-casting, and iGoogle. iGoogle is probably the most practical for lifelong learning because it has everything right at your finger tips. I will never use a blog, wiki, career exploration, or digital portfolio ever again. I didn't see the point in most of those and they aren't an interest of mine. My favorite thing to create was probably the digital stories because they were the most fun and didn't seem like work. My least favorite would probably have to be the wikis or the blog because they were annoying and I didn't see the point in them.

Screencast Comparison
I like both screencasts the same because they were both almost exactly the same. Screencast-o-matic is more known to people so it gets used more. The second one that I used took me awhile to find but it worked just as good as screencast-o-matic, looked almost exactly the same.
Screencast
A screencast is a tool used to record the window of a computer so that people can see how to do things and get explanations while doing it. I liked creating one because it was kind of cool but I didn't like it because it was also annoying. If I didn't know how to do something then it would be very helpful. It is only helpful to the people who need to know how to do something and who have looked it up for that purpose.

Google Docs vs. Windows Live
I like using both Google Docs and Windows Live. They both work very well and have great advantages. However, they both have their downsides. I like Google Docs because everything is organized, and the way that is set-up makes it very easy to use; the documents also automatically save themselves so you don't have too. The down side is that the set up of the actual documents themselves is kind of a turn off. You can only see part of the document at a time. What I liked about Windows Live was that you could see the whole document screen and it was also very easy to use. The only thing that I didn't like was that the set-up of the website was different from what I'm used to, and it's not on a site that I use everyday and would remember to look at.

Driverless Cars
There is currently tests that are going on the promote a car that can drive itself. As of right now there are only a few companies whose driver less models are ready to show off. Even though these cars work they are still a long way from production by at least an estimated ten years. Mercedes is most likely the farthest along of the major auto manufacturers when it comes to driver less cars. The cars that are being transformed have an array of antennas and sensors to tell the car where to go, and as of right now there is no room in the driver's seat because the steering wheel and pedals are operated by robotics. A goal that these companies hope to reach by doing this is to not replace the driver but rather assist them. This allows for a safe transition to computer control if the driver falls asleep or becomes unconscious.

Career Cluster
The career cluster that is best suited for me is architecture and construction. The job description is basically that of designing, planning, managing, building, and maintaining the built environment. The jobs that fall under this category are architectural technology, cabinetmaking and mill work, civil engineering technician, construction and remodeling, electrical engineering technology, and interior designer. The type of skills one needs to have this job are: be good at math/ good with numbers, be able to read documents and understand them, predict outcomes, be able to analyze data, have verbal skills, know vocabulary, etc. This job would fit me best because I was thinking about going into this career anyway, and by taking this test I know that I'm on the right track.

Project Wrap-Up Assignment
I liked the fact that in Google Docs I can share my work with other people and that all of my work isn't just left on one computer. The thing that I didn't like about Google Docs however, was that the screen didn't let me see most of what I was working on; I felt like I had to focus on the line I was working on and nothing else. Even though I did not have a partner I feel that being able to work on the same document at the same time as someone else would be very helpful and cut down the work time. I'm not really sure what Google could do to improve Google Docs because it is so helpful already, but if they could find something to tweak it would be even better. Overall, the research that I did was good. However, I did not do the entire project since I was gone but I think that, if we use Google Docs for another project, it would turn out great.
Spring Break Article
1.) I think it's true that there isn't any firm data because there could be another reason as to why spring breakers are taking it easy and aren't being as wild.
2.) I would be really mad if someone were to do that to me especially without my permission.
3.) It's nice to see that something good can come out of all the bad things that people are saying. Also it makes people more responsible for what they are doing and making them think twice before doing something stupid, and now a days people don't know any better unless they have to think about what might happen if people see what they did or are doing.

Review So Far
Google Docs is a program in which documents can be shared on the internet. This program also makes it possible to use/edit documents on any computer because it is over the internet so the documents aren't tied down to just one computer.
Wikis, or avitars, are used on social networks and are a reflection of who you are. They have many purposses for example: teaching, learning, communication, etc.
Assistive technology is used by people who have dissabilities and use computers to communicate or to do other functions.
Electronic portfolios are used as a way for people to see all of your information. For example: a company could look at it to see if you are qualified for a job.

iPad's charging math is wrong!
According to researchers, the new iPad still has to charge an extra 2 hours and 10 minutes after the battery says 100%. Due to bad math the charging rate is completely off, and for those of which who are not aware of this and have an iPad they are not getting the full battery usage out of their batteries.

Citing Sources
I liked Citation Machine the best because I felt like it had more information to offer, I didn't have to look up as much information to fill in to find the right one. EasyBid was okay but I'd rather use Citation Machine, just for the fact of with EasyBid I had to find a lot of the information by myself.

Website Evaluations
http://www.prodeathpenalty.com/ had a lot to offer. There were a lot of links and information that were all broken down into what you were looking for. The only problem with this website it that it is one sided which could be a problem, and some of the information wasn't exactly up to date.
http://usliberals.about.com/od/deathpenalty/i/DeathPenalty.htm was ok but you had to scroll through the whole page to find information. This site is looking at the pros and cons so you could use it to write a report or use it just to get some useful information.
http://www.amnesty.org/en/death-penalty is a news site so they only had a page to talk about the death penalty, so you wouldn't have enough information to really do anything with it. This site is also one sided, leaning away from the death penalty. All together, this site isn't that helpful.
http://kkk.org/ is one sided toward the KKK but it gives us information about the KKK. This website could be easly used to write a report, but only if you were to be on their side or write about their histroy or latest news.

Online Saftey
13-year old Alicia Kozakiewicz had a chatroom friend who convinced her to sneak out of her Pittsburgh home on New Year's Day. When she was a grown man pulling up to the curb she hesitated about her "friend," but it was too late. He grabbed her, threatened her, and threw her in his vehicle. For days he tortured and raped her, keeping her chained in his basement in Virginia. Four days later he told her they would be "taking a ride" that night, and she knew he would kill her. But then the FBI stormed the house and rescues Alicia. She is now telling her story, and preaching the dangers of online predators and cyberbullying. Kozakiewicz said that everyone knew her story and blamed her for what happend and people started to bully her.

Google has a new privacy policy that is freaking people out. What they are now going to start doing is tracking every website that we visit. It's not that this is a new thing; almost every website that we use has been recording what we look at, Google is just being more open about it. What they are trying to do is set up Google in a way so that we have the best experiance while looking for things. They are making the gadgets easier to use, and using our information to figure out what adds would interest us the most. The new policy isn't really such a big deal because for the last few years we haven't really had privacy on these website so anyone could figure out our information.

House of Bryant Publications, L.L.C. vs. A&E Television Networks
On December 11, 2004 an episode of "The City Confidential" aired, including a 12-second clip of the song "Rocky Top." The scene the song was included in was a football game at the University of Tennessee. The marching band was playing the song; however, you could only hear about twelve seconds of the song because of all of the noise taking place in the scene. The House of Bryant, the administrators for the song, sued A&E Television Network for copyright infringement because of the song. A&E Television Network was eventually found guilty of copyright infringement and they had to give up all of the money that they had made on that episode along with $150,000.

Internet Safety
Internet safety is using common sence to look out for things that could put you in a bad situation or get you in trubble. The three most important things the remember when online is not to give out personal information; this makes it easier for people to find you and steal from you. Don't type anything that you wouldn't say in public, and don't post any innapropriate pictures of yourself or anyone else because that is illegal. I've learned that no matter what you delete or how good you hide things on your computer, that there are so many differend ways in which those files can be found. So you always need to be careful when doing things on the internet because you never know what could happen or what you could be accussed of. A way that i could improve using the internet is by not having as much personal information out there.

Feed Readers
Over that past few days I have been working with FeedDemon and Google Reader. They were both easy to use and made subscribing to sites much faster, but FeedDemon stood out the most for me. With FeedDemon I could look up any website I wanted too and I could subscribe to it. Google Reader, however, wasn't so easy because when I would go to look up something I would get sites that I've never seen before or it wasn't exactly what I wanted; so it felt as if my search took longer than it should have.
